LinkedIn +

As part of its Corporate Social  Responsibility initiatives and amid the holiday season, BDSwiss is pleased to announce that for a third consecutive year, it chose to support the “Elpida” Foundation for Children with Cancer & Leukaemia with a charitable donation of €5,000. The funds will be used to bolster the institution’s efforts in providing financial and psychological assistance to children undergoing cancer treatment and their families.

In the spirit of the season, BDSwiss consolidated its CSR efforts for 2021 with another charitable donation to the “Epida” Foundation whose mission has become ever more challenging in the past couple of years. The enormous strain that the COVID-19 pandemic put on health systems has had a ripple effect on all high-risk patients and those battling life-threatening illnesses. When it comes to young cancer patients their treatment has undeniably been negatively impacted by the effects of COVID-19, with children experiencing cancellations, delays, and changes to their life-saving cancer treatments. Meanwhile, the cancer journey comes with unbearable emotional and financial burden for the young patients’ families.

The work of institutions such as “Elpida” is therefore crucial in providing support, treatment, and early diagnoses to children with cancer. The foundation depends on government funding and the ongoing generosity of corporate and individual donors. BDSwiss hopes that its modest contribution can help support the work of “Elpida” in transforming the lives of children with cancer and leukaemia in Cyprus, and that the new year brings some much-anticipated medical advancements in cancer treatment research.

Always committed to driving forward positive change for local and international communities, BDSwiss Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives for 2022 will remain aligned with global, social, and economic trends.
